The Good Ol' Days...

The Good Ol' Days...

I was in the studio working last night, shooting some products for a client.

I setup a few strobes, attached the wireless triggers, sorted out the lighting, chose a lens and setup my camera, pulled out a memory card and setup the laptop, shot the colour card for accurate colour reproduction, and finally got into it all...

While this is all standard in most studios, it got me thinking to when things were so much simpler!

I then went to the cupboard and pulled out my FIRST EVER SLR that i owned. I bought it used (can't remember when).

It is a fully manual 35mm SLR. I only had one lens. The aperture blades (what controls light going through the lens) don't work anymore, the internal light meter is way off, but i still loved it!

It got me started in photography, and I even shot some editorial coverage for Fast Fours Magazine with this hunk of junk (when they still supplied us with transparency film and sent them to be scanned for layouts ahahahaha)! LOL

Anyway, i took a few pics while i was in the studio, and just thought i'd share this story about the start of my life as a photographer
